A Romanian Village Along Broadway – guest post by Sorin Olariu

Our colleague, Sorin Olariu was present on May 1st on Broadway, at the Romania Day Festival. Here are some impressions on the event that took place on Sunday:

“Romania Day Festival brought together Romanians from the North-American continent and from all over the world. The Festival took place on Broadway, in Lower Manhattan, in the Financial District and it was attended by people from the New York metropolitan area, tourists, businessmen, artists, officials from USA and Romania, leaders of the Romanian-American community, church officials, and other dignitaries. Traditional Romanian food and drinks were served, while folk art was exhibited. Artists and renowned musicians performed live for the audience, the largest gathering of Romanians outside the country’s borders and many truly authentic foods, art, craft, antique, merchandise exhibitors created a Romanian village along Broadway.

This event showed everybody that Romania is a beautiful country with strong traditions and culture.

Our company – BlueTone – was one of the sponsors. We attended the event and distributed our promotional materials to people. Many of them have expressed their desire to sign up and join us. We also held a raffle. The winners got $100, $50 and $30 calling cards for international phone calls.”

Thank you, Sorin, for thoughts and pictures. Hope to here from you again soon on other ethnic-related events around USA!
